The concept of establishing a chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. in Columbus, GA was conceived by four graduates from Florida A&M University who were stationed at Fort Benning.

Greetings Brothers and Friends,
On behalf of the Officers and Brothers of Lambda Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., it is my honor and privilege to welcome you to our official website. I am humbled to serve as Basileus of this distinguished chapter a chapter built on excellence, service, and the unwavering principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift.
Since May 14, 1945, when eight visionary Omega Men chartered Lambda Iota in Columbus, Georgia, our mission has been clear: to lead, serve, and uplift the citizens of the tri-city area - Columbus, GA; Phenix City, AL; and Fort Benning, GA. For more than 80 years, we have stood as a pillar of leadership and community engagement, setting a standard that inspires generations.
Our commitment today is stronger than ever. We will serve boldly, build authentically, and lead collaboratively - expanding mentorship programs, deepening civic engagement, and ensuring that Omega Psi Phi is not just a name, but a living presence and source of inspiration in our community. The strength of Lambda Iota lies in the collective spirit of our Brotherhood. Through mandated programs, youth initiatives, scholarships, and partnerships, we will continue to make an impact that matters. Let us remain intentional, accountable, and unified as we carry forward the legacy of Omega.

Formal Memorial Service
Join us on March 12, 2026 @ 7:11 PM as we remember our departed brothers. Memorial Service will be held at our very own Lambda Iota Fraternity House.
